Petersham Open Gardens Community Event
Sunday 18th May 2025
Back by popular demand, after a four-year hiatus, we are delighted to announce the Petersham Open Gardens event will be held once more on Sunday the 18th of May 2025, in aid of local charities.
Seven stunning private gardens will be open to visitors, with advance tickets going on sale online in February. For garden lovers there is something to suit every taste: the grand, the ornate, the natural, the modern minimalist, the picture-box perfect, the Zen, the quirky and even gardens in the making.
Directions to the gardens will be displayed throughout the village, and an easy-to-follow map will be included in the programme. All gardens are within a ten-minute walk from the Petersham Gate entrance to Richmond Park, opposite the Dysart Arms served by buses 65 and 371 from Richmond station.
Garden spotting is thirsty work so teas and delicious homemade cakes will be on sale from mid-day at the Ham and Petersham Sea Scouts and from Petersham Lodge in River Lane. There will also be a BBQ, weather permitting. Here’s what some of our visitors had to say in at the last event in 2021:
“A triumph. Stunning gardens, delicious teas, a real feeling of community. A true taste of village life in London.” “Our expectations were exceeded, such a treat to see into the gardens of the beautiful houses we pass every day.”
“Absolutely stunning. A wonderful glimpse into this beautiful conservation area by the Thames”
Advance tickets are on sale online at www.petershamopengardens.org for the early-bird rate of £12 per person and £8 for concessions.
On the day tickets can be purchased from dedicated ticket desks signposted in the village for £15 per person and £10 for concessions. Entry is free for children under 16. Gardens will be open from 11am-5pm, with last ticket sales at 4pm.
We regret, no dogs allowed in gardens.
